I'm getting near having to replace my brake pads on my 2010 Ultra. A friend advised to get sintered pads. In browsing for prices/availability, I came across this warning: Never use sintered metal pads in bikes originally equipped with non-sintered pads, Check your owners manual to see if sintered metal brakes were OEM equipment on your motorcycle
I can't find any reference to pad composition of the OEM pads in either my Owners or Service Manuals. Does anybody know if 2010 FLHTCUs come with sintered pads? I've noted some manufacturers have listings for sintered pads only through to 2007; others show them available for 2010. Who makes HD pads anyway?
I'd just go get them at the local dealer but HD OEM replacements here in Canada are DOUBLE US prices - $215 + tax for all three sets! US dealers will not ship to Canada or even to a US address if charged to a Cdn card. What happened to our Free Trade Agreement? Feeling the love in my backside from Deeley!
That's great to know. Sooooo... HD stock are sintered...
HD pads have different part numbers front (41854-08) rear (41852-08B). Some aftermarket manufacturers say the same pads fit both front and rear. If that's the case why does HD differentiate?
HD pads throw off tons of dust. Consider pads made by Lyndall. The Z-plus or the Lyndall Gold Plus are both good choices. I bought a set of Zplus (3 pair) off Ebay for $125. Love em.
Edit....also remember that your brake fluid needs changing every two years. Invest in a set of Speed Bleeders to assist you in this easy task. That way, you can do it all yourself and end up with fresh brake fluid and fresh pads....a good place to be!

Can't speak for others, but the pad design on my 2010 front and rear are identical.
Ain't that something. HD Canada (Deeley) charge $75.95 for rear pads; $69.95 for front. http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_CA
HD US show different part no front and rear but at least they're the same price - $41.95. Still feeling the love from Deeley!
