I've been buying my pads at the local dealer because the online price isn't much better.

Sounds like your monopoly supplier is doing what monopolies do best, cranking up the price. Get your parts online!

HD US show different part no front and rear but at least they're the same price - $41.95. Still feeling the love from Deeley!

Yabbut... Deeley controls ALL HD supplies in Canada. I tried to order from a dealer in the US. They say that HD will remove their dealership license if they get caught shipping to Canada. The only parts I can get online without paying the Deeley markup are aftermarket. I'll probably order EBC sintered pads from an online supplier - they're said to be better than OEM and are just over half the Deeley cost.

I highly recommend the Lyndalls as well. They stop better and last three times as long as OEM.

Ed, I'm always looking for better pads. Where do you buy yours? (The company web site is not always the best price).

HD pads have different part numbers front (41854-08) rear (41852-08B). Some aftermarket manufacturers say the same pads fit both front and rear. If that's the case why does HD differentiate?
Bought front/rear together from my dealer. Same part #. Wonder what is different about this other # and if I should exchange for it since I haven't used it yet.

I got my new pads drom Drag Specialties through a local indy for $27.00 a set. They are MUCH better than the OEM pads in both stopping power and longivity.

Just put new front and rear pads on my 09 King.... Went the stock route.. just easier to swing by the dealership and pick them (as it is about 1 mile from where I work.) Anyway, it did appear that the pads were the same. However they have different stock numbers due to what comes in the little boxes (and the rear is about 10 more... The front comes with pads, locking pin, and little clamp that goes around the pin. The rear, in addition to these, comes with masks that you put down on the pads and a black paste that you put into the mask holes.. then you remove the mask and put the pads in... The mask leaves indentations where the brake (guess they are called pistons?) press agains the pads... so that is the difference. fronts don't come with this black crap, the rear does.
