I have a 2011 Street Glide 103. Only mod I have made is adding Rinehart Slip on's. Looking for suggestions on air cleaner and fuel management system. I would like to know what you have done, what works and what does not.
There are many threads about stage 1 upgrades, check out the search function.
In general all of the "hi flow" A/C setups will do the same for performance selection is based on looks. IMO Tuners basically fall into a few categories and your choices are based on $, ease of use, are you doing more mods later, are you going to tune or have a dyno guy do it.
1. are you planning on having a mechanic tune it , if so pick your tuner based on what they are best using.
2. decide between a piggy back type fuel only type basic tuner like the Fuel Pac, DFO, Cobra, or a piggy back type more complete tuner like a PC V or a flash type tuner like the SEPST, TTS, Power Vision , Direct Link etc.
Ive used the Fuel Pak, PCIII,PCV, SERT and now Power Vision. For me the Power Vision is my favorite, its easy to use, allows self tuning, has great support from Fuel Moto.
The best thing you can do is some reading on these and then maybe call Fuel Moto for some help as well they are a great source of info. Or if you already have a local tuner talk to them to see what they like.
In the end any of the flash type tuners will produce the same basic results.
I would have to echo what Xaran said, especially the part about contacting Fuel Moto. Great outfit and they sell most non-HD-branded tuners and other upgrade items on the market.
I'd have to ask "what are you trying to achieve? How are you going to ride the bike? Bar to bar? Day rides with hot rod buddies? To work & back? Weekend rides if it ain't rainin'? Long distance touring, solo, two up, loaded, pullin' a trailer? Want drag power? Passin' power?
When I bought my 10 Ultra it already had Stage I and Rush slip-ons. All I did was remove the CAT. It runs great, gets very good gas milage (48-50mpg), and the heat is gone on the right side. I might add a tuner later on but right now I'm a happy camper.
