I have read alot of the oil thread, And haven't really seen anyone talk about Schaeffer's. That's what I run in all my other vehicles. Anyone run it? What weights? Just factory recommended weights? Engine, trans, primary??
I have 14k on my bike, plan to change it all in the next week or so.
I just had it put into my Bike. They put in the synthetic. I had never heard of it. The Local Biker Shop recommended it. My bike does seem to run cooler with it. I've only put 400 miiles on it, so not sure yet.
I am running it. I love it. 20/50 synthetic racing. Don't put it in your primary though. Your clutch will slip.
The singer sewing machine sound is long gone even after more then 4800 miles on the current change. Oil pressure holds much better on hot days also. Before it would drop dramatically when running syn 3 or other oils. Now it does not drop at all at speed and still holds decent pressure at idle. Syn3 used to drop off to nothing at idle. Zip Zero nadda.
I am running Sheaffers in the motor, Royal purple in the trans and Mobile 1 synthetic atf in the primary.
So 20/50 in the engine? And what in the primary and trans? Harley lists same oil for both in my book. but doesnt give a weight or anything, just a part #99851-05
