I weigh 300 lbs and the wife weights 225lbs. We ride with our rear suspension at 40Lbs. of air. It's quite comfortable until we go over that bump in the road and bottom out the suspension. Any ideas, other than losing weight, as to how we can improve the ride?
Your right around the max recommended weight. If your bike is 09 or newer go to 50psi, if that doesnt work out get better shocks that will carry the weight
2008 and older bikes I believe you are at the max.
All these new Harley touring riders will tell you 50 lbs, but that's for 2009 and newer bikes.
HD changed the shocks when they changed the frame in '09.
Change the oil in the shocks you have , I would try 15wt, you should be able to lower your air pressure that way. it will feel a bit harsher though.
I have 10wt in mine and run about 25-30 pounds, 2 up.
