If you have the tools and capability, do it yourself. If your fork seals are new enough, dont bother replacing them - save the money. The oil in the lowers is only 5 oz per side and is just to keep things 'wet.' The pressure is contained in the monotube itself.
Also, did you get the lowered ones or stock length?
I got the lowered ones for my 21. Bought them at usmotoman for 277 shipped.
an added bonus of the monotubes is you no longer have to do any fork service to the bike. will save you money on maintenance and give a better ride!! good deal!! I love mine
I thought the same thing but when I was at the Progressive Suspension booth in Sturgis (actually rapid city hd) getting my 940's sorted out (they did an awesome job for me changing to longer springs) I asked about not having to service he monotubes and the tech said that in reality you needed to change the oil every 10 or 20,000 miles to get best performance. He was a factory Progressive tech and it was obvious he new what he was doing by how he had my 940's all apart and then set them up for my weight.
You will love the monotubes. Much better ride and front end manuverability. Do the job yourself if you can and save big! I didn't, double the price of just the shocks!
