The only chain tensioner I am aware of that Baker produces is a manual-adjustable one, it is not automatic. And since the HD factory outer primary cover has no access panel in that area, you have to remove the entire outer primary cover to make an adjustment. The previous covers with the access panel over the adjuster does not fit the '07-up big twin. Baker makes one for an outrageous price....
If Baker makes an auto adjuster, could you link to it ?
Thanks

That is a manual adjuster and the primary cover must be removed to check and adjust it.

You are correct. My bad. The way they were talking it up I thought they came up with something new like the M6. Guess not. Id do the M6 if mine goes bad.

Mine on the Evo's are mounted upside down and I've never had to adjust them since install.

Install went just fine tonight. No shims needed. The shoe measured right at 1/2". I'll get out and ride it tomorrow and post up my impressions.

Just got back from a little ride. I ran some hard up and down shifts along with heavy acceleration and deceleration. Primary is dead quiet. I even got off the bike and let it idle as i stuck my ear to the primary. Seems a bit smoother as well like the tensioner is helping the compensator absorb some of the shock. All in all, not a bad $105 spent. I have 5,500 miles on the bike now and I'll pull the primary cover off to check it all out at about 10,000 just to see how things are wearing.

BTW, my primary chain was quite tight from the stock tensioner ratcheting the tension up. Had maybe 1/4" of play across the top.

Just out of curiousity vaham, why do you want to go with the Hayden?
Do you think that the HD auto tensioner is too tight?
I've read the Baker report on their site and what they have to say about it.
Their Bully primary cover and manual chain adjuster costs $1100, which I think is outrageous too and I don't want to go there either.

What do you think that is different between the Hayden and the HD auto tensioners?
Do you think that HD one wears out the compensator?

BTW I had a Hayden on my evo and never had any issues with it.
