Default What should I do?

Wellguys I am stumped. I am trading my 2004 Peace Officer Road King in for a 2007 Peace Officer Ultra Classic Electra Glide. The dealer who I will leave nameless at this time, want me to bring in my bike and trade right now before my bike has arrived. Should I or Shouldn't I? I have never dealt with this type of thing before. My bike is paid off and I hold the title. I thought I should wait until my new bike arrives in two weeks and trade it then.

Assuming you have already put down a deposit, they likely have a buyer for your old bike and are looking to make a fast turn around.
If you can live without a bike for 2 weeks, go ahead. I would try to see if you can get some goodies for parting with your bike early.
I'm surprised they didn't tell you the reason for the giving up your bike before your other one arrives

Later.........!

I would tell him to pound salt, so I still had something to ride till the new one gets here.

Well that's the thing they didn't tell me anything. I put $1,000.00 down on November 17th of last year. They told me that my bike would be here on the 17th of January. Then they told me last month that they looked it up on the computer and it was due to ship out on the 12th. I met with the chrome guy, ordered my parts that I wanted installed and they told me they still didn't have a vin number on the new bike. I called today and they told me I would here from them. I asked the sales person to check for me to see if it was released because I felt something wasn't right. Guess what, she had the vin number and said the bike was in route. When I initially gave them my deposit they told me that they would take my bike on a trade. Today $1,000.00 later they tell methere is no guarantee that they would take my bike. I e-mailed the owner andthe sales manager changed his mind. Now they will take my bike on a trade.

I would see why they want it so quickly and like was said before see if you can get something out of the extra out of it for doing so.

Remember the scene in Vacation when Clark Griswold goes to get the new family car ? You could wind up with a "Family Truckster". I'd hold off until they have the bike in house and you can see it.

Your right I'm afraid if I give up my bike before the new one comes in. The dealer will have the upper hand. Kinda have me bent over a barrel.

trade it in (and have everything in writing) with the condition that you get a loaner/rental (at no charge) of your choice until your new wheel comes in
