Can you run a wider tire on the rear than a 130? Any help thanks.

Countless threads re. this, but to re-cap, if you're running the stock 16x3" rear & stock belt/pulley on your '03, you can easily run a MU85B16 or a MU90B16 (appx. 142mm) without any mods, although I did add the Pingle Spacer for a little more clearance between the tire and stock belt. A 150 should work with the spacer & trimming &/or removal of the belt guard, & a 160 can work with a wider rim & the '04-later 1.125" belt/pulley set-up. Wider you go, watch for caliper mount & fender clearance issues as well.

If you have a 1 1/2" wide belt, the widest you will get in is as bduster describes. If you have the later spec narrow belt (which can be retrofitted) a 150/80 will go in. That is the widest some brands will recommend for a 3" rim.

I'm working on a Deuce wheel at present, with a 160/70, but work in progress. Looks promising, but not yet back on it's wheels. Clearances are very snug!

The simple answer is you can run a 140 no problem. If MU90B16 if you were going with a Dunlop E3.

But I guess someone may have already said that. Oh well.
