So im swapping bars soon from stock to carlini flying apes, I know a lot of you like the iso grips but what else is out there? There's so many choices I figured id ask you guys what looks cool but is also comfortable. Im sure anything is better then stock but id appreciate your 2 cents.
avon air cushion are nice and priced right but...SOME with 1-1\4 bars (me included) had a slight fitment problem, they run just a bit short maybe 1\8-3\16 and leave a very small gap were the bars go up to 1-1\4.wasnt bad but it bugged me,if the carlineis have a gradual shoulder u may be alright.or take a bit off the end of the bars?
Take a look at the grips from SAC. They are located at http://www.coolsac.com/ I have a buddy who turned me on to these. He has had them on his last couple of bikes. These grips are super comfortable and you can get them in a wide variety of colors to match your paint scheme.

You say what else is out there and follow the statement up with "There's so many choices". Sounds to me like you know what else is out there. Then you say "what looks cool". Really!? You can't tell what looks cool? It's all about what looks cool to YOU, not to US. Go to J&P's website and look through all the grips. Pick the grips that you best to YOU!
That being said the most popular grips besides ISO's seam to be PM/RSD's.
Thanks Half throttle thats exactly what I was looking for, when I go on ebay or JP I see so many choices but they all look the same and Im not sure if there comfortable.. I kinda like some arlen ness grips but these look great!
i have the iso grips on my 08 triumph rocket III classic, and i hate them. on my 08 streetglide, i have harley's nostalgia grips. they're the ones shaped like an old style coke bottle with the chrome band around them. for me, they're the best ever. they're real rubber and provide a very comfortable grip. look them up in your HD parts and accessories catalog.
sorry to add to my previous post, but for me the iso grips feel sorta like a long version of a large diameter garlic. all sorts of ***** and bulbs sticking out where you really don't want them. not very ergonomic at all to me, and i can not find a place where my hands fit comfortably. that's why i've been using the harley nostalgia grips for years on my past few and current harley.
