2006 Road Glide. This is getting to me now.
I can hear the primary slapping against the top of the primary case and when I open it up, I can see were the chain is hitting.
I check the freeplay in the chain and it is within tollerance. If I adjust the chain guide up one notch, the chain is to tight.
I tried one of those spring loaded, oil dampen chain adjusters and the chain sounded like it would come through the case.
The primary chain is new with about 1500 miles on it. I had the same problem with the original chain which had about 60K on when I recently changed it.
Anybody have an idea what is going on here?
I may be wrong here, but the only way to get slap that bad is for the chain to be excessively loose. When you adjust the tension do you check it in more than one place. Maybe excessive crank runout, but this will show by checking the chain in more than one place. Just a thought.

Hey Gunny, put your bike on a lift, and check the chain in different spots. Pull your spark plugs, so you can turn the engine to check for tight/loose spots.
I checked the slack directly above the tensioner. I have rolled the motor to check it in several spots and it is good. I'm going to pull the primary cover again after the bike cools off and take another look.
