Anyone out there have problems with their riding boots that have zippers in them? My local dealer told me to avoid the HD boots with the zippers, due to them breaking in a short period of time. They said the zipper doesn't break but the zipper assembly starts separating from the boot itself. Any insite past my dealer would be appreciated.

 

Between me and the OL, we have 7 pairs of harley boots, five with zippers, we have had no problems with them and find them to be sturdy and reliable, in fact, she likes hers so much, she wears them daily, year round to work, andthroughout the winter out in the elements for herjoband she has worn out two pairs of the brake light boots with no zipper problemsand replaced them with the same thing over the last few years. We do buy them at our local Theisens farm center though, they are cheaper there than at the dealership. Good luck

 

I have a pair of Harley with the zippers and wear them all the time....no problems.

I have 2 pair HD boots with zippers, wear them everyday all year long and have not had any problems with them. The wife wears a lot of HD shoes and likes how long they last.

 

I have a pair with the zippers on both sides.No problems with the zippers but dont like them in cold weather.The air goes thru the zippers.

 

My left boot unzips as I ride, I have to think it's because that is the shifting foot and has more movement with the heel toe shifting (yes I do use the heel shifter)...

 

I had a pair that the zipper messed up on after about 3 rides.
Took them back to Academy (same boots as the HD dealer sells) and they changed them out for a pair without zippers.
I think I had to pay about 6 dollars difference.

 

Two pairs here with zero problems.
