Just replaced mine. Did tons of research prior to purchasing an HD oem battery. Main reason for buying HD was that I got 7+ years out of my original one. Was still turning her over, just sounded like it was dragging a little to me. Had a long vacation ride to do, so.... They are also close in price to the "other guys" higher end batteries ($175). Friend who works at HD says they have had bikes come in with electrical "bugs", and as soon as they pulled the "other guys" battery and dropped in a HD, the bugs vanished. Just sayin that my bud would not bullsheet me to make a sale. Good luck.
I'm sure that I don't have the popular opinion, however after 15 years and 5 Harleys I've found that the one from the dealer is best overall. There are lots of options out there I know, and most if not all are less expensive. The Harley battery is about $180 and should cost about 50 less I know, but I know when I install it I don't have to worry about it.
I'm not closed minded about this at all. I'm interested in hearing what others use.
My understanding is that this is the Deka battery made by East Penn Manufacturing and is the same as OEM for less than $100, shipped with no sales tax and 1 year warranty.
Ive had good luck with Drag Specialties batteries. They come with a 1 year guaranteed warrenty, no questions asked. If you can get one of those, they are about $120.
I'm in the exact same position. Seven years, but it's still going strong. I connect my trickle every single ride and all winter. THis has been bulletproof. It's an OEM, but I'm certainly open to switch in order to save some coin if they're just as good. I'll be watching this one, as my plan is to replace at the end of this season, whether I need it or not. :~(
The guy at Batteries Plus told me just yesterday that their battery is made by the same manufacture that does the Harley and BMW batteries. Bought one for my Goldwing. Hopefully I get 7 years out of the SG like the Wing before I have to replace it. (and that was with never hooking up a battery tender)

I replaced my OEM battery with an Odyssey Battery. After having my battery die on the road I went for the best battery I could get. I'll let you know if it lasts 12 years or not.
