I sit in the garage with a glass of Captain Morgan and Diet coke in my left hand and a cigar in my right hand. My Greyhound lays at my feet on one of his many beds. We watch the wife as she washes, dries, and waxes all three of the bikes. I am kinda lucky, my wife hates dirty bikes. Sometimes when she's done with the bikes, she cleans up the cars too. That gives me time for another Captain and coke and another cigar.
Make sure to turn the projector off and do a full wax and claybar with nightvision goggles when your done. The light emitted from your garage lighting and the projector will destroy your paint!
Rid.. I mean, watch safe
Also jk...
Good point! I hadn't thought of that! I better rush right home and fix it... : )
+1 if I ain't riding it, I am cleaning it, give me a chance to inspect the bike and make sure nothing is loose or leaking. I have washed it every week or more since new, carnuba wax wash, micro fiber dry, use a air compressor to get the areas I don't want water, dries real quick in the socal sunshine. Keep it up with a good detailing spray. On the road, find a car wash, be gentle, no high pressure, soap setting and only use the spot free for a rinse , detail spray and she is good to go
Love that Merlot. Wish it was still an option. If I could get a new one I mean a Road Glide that color I would.
I remove the bags, windshield, backrest, etc., and do a thorough hand wash with all kinds of special brushes and a big microfiber mitt. Aluminum cleaner on the wheels, S100 the engine area. Blow dry followed by a microfiber towels wipe-down. Wax all the shiny stuff. Between wash jobs I take a bucket of water and use a wet rag to wipe off bugs from the leading edges, dried with a microfiber towel. I clean the rear area and bags with a California Duster. Bike looks stunning most of the time!!
Since there's been a few comments about my cleaning method, I thought I should post a couple pictures - one of my lovely wife washing the Ultra, and one of me sitting in the garage with my Greyhound sipping on a Captain & coke while puffing a cigar watching the wife do the washing. Life is good.

That's nice for you, I guess. Whatever works. Personally, I couldn't bring myself to just sit around and watch while my OL cleaned my bike or truck or whatever. I understand that yours enjoys doing it and I mean no offense, but that would never happen in my house.

LOL - she loves washing bikes and cars. One of her little quirks. Don't worry though, I do tons of stuff around the homestead. I do laundry, dishes, knock out walls, remodel bathrooms/kitchens.... We both do tons of work, and fortunately for us we both enjoy doing the things that the other person does not care for. She sits and sips on a Pinot and watches me lay ceramic tile occasionally. Doesn't bother me in the least. Everything balances out.
One thing I do that I haven't seen posted is I keep a box fan blowing on mine in the garage. Keeps dust off and keeps air moving in garage humidity is horrible here in Florida
