In my opinion, the HD LED Lights are worth every penny. I am not saying anything bad about the TL's, rather simply sayiing that I know they are expensive but the difference is worth it. I kid around with my wife a lot of times when I buy a new part and tell her, "its for safety reasons". This truely makes things a lot safer on the highway at night. The amount of road that is lit up is amazing. Like many places in the States, we have a serious deer population and these lights have pointed out several that there is no way I would have seen with stock lights. Again, just my opinion.
Anything is better than stock.
I preferred the TLP7 LED headlight and passing lamps.
And then the CD LED turn signals.
And the BAL Tail light.
There's no end...
I have both the headlight and passing lamps from HD. The difference is night and day. I bought them on Black Friday sale at 30% off. Best investment and addition to the bike yet. I work night shift and always ride to work after dark on unlit roads, have never needed the high beam yet and have had numerous people tell me how bright they are in the day time as well as how wide of a beam it throws at night.
2012 Street Glide with HD Headlight and custom dynamics LEDs for running lights/turn signals (I like the fairing to have a "open look" without passing lamps); pretty much plug n play. The HD headlight was a gift for Xmas, otherwise I'd still be reading and wondering if I should get one. Now that it's all said and done...I'd do it again. Money and time well spent! Two of my riding friends are changing their SG from stock lights to the same set up as mine. Just my 2 cents worth, looking forward to seeing what you decide. Good luck.
As everyone said, HD LED is well worth the cash. Thought about saving with the TL7 but the look just didn't compare to the black HD LED. Don't buy it from your dealer. Get it online (I recommend LSHD) and save yourself 20% with no tax, if you don't live in IL.
Truck-lite makes these for Kuryakyn and they call them Phase 7. I have the previous version and they are worth the money. Better at night and more noticable in the day.
I just got my phase 7 led lights and havent had a chance to install them yet as i'm doing some other stuff while the fairing is off. I took some pics last night of the stock lights and hope to get some pics of the new ones. once intalled i will try to post some pics..prolly be monday
If it doesn't say Harley Davidson it does not even go onto my bike. I truly feel the HD accessories look so much better & are higher quality + a warranty! But that is just my opinion!
I rode a couple of weeks ago with a guy that had the Harley LED headlamp. I thought he was running a HID lamp it was so bright. I will eventually get one because of all the deer where I live.
