I just got my phase 7 led lights and havent had a chance to install them yet as i'm doing some other stuff while the fairing is off. I took some pics last night of the stock lights and hope to get some pics of the new ones. once intalled i will try to post some pics..prolly be monday
I have had the headlights in for a week now and all I can say is that I can't believe I waited so long. I work nights and ride home backroads 20 miles at 2a.m. almost every night. These lights are great. don't know how they are compaired to the HD led lights though. If you go to the hd site and watch the video on their led lights it is a pretty realistic shot at how much they improve the visibility. they are not really that bright but close. I tried to take before and after pics but couldn't get my camera to work without the flash going off..here is a link to the harley site. just click on the play video under the picture and go to 1 minute in..http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_CA
If you ride at night these lights (harley or kuryakan) are a must have!
If it doesn't say Harley Davidson it does not even go onto my bike. I truly feel the HD accessories look so much better & are higher quality + a warranty! But that is just my opinion!
You mean the ones that say made in Taiwan?? Does anyone have a picture with their lights on at night?
I have the Phase 7 light and my buddy is running the HD led in black. The light output is almost equal on high and in low beam his is just a little bit wider pattern. But my set up blew him away when I installed the custom dynamics dynamic ringz directional/ running light led that my bud is getting the ringz as well since their was so bright during the day as well as night. So the extra coin you save going TL/ Kury P7 you can go led all the way around including Biketronics load equalizer. Hit the search lot of info here on TL 7
This is the conclusion from the review posted earlier between P6, HD, and P7.
Travis: This is the third version of the Truck-Lite LED headlight we have done. Each time there has been a vast improvement to the
design and functionality of the headlight and passing lamps. I can now say that they are equal to the functionality of the JW/HD LED
headlight and, for half the cost, you cannot go wrong with them. They are the best bang for the buck. Truck-Lite has really won me
over, because it shows that they are listening to their consumers and making the changes they are asking for, and continuing to
advance the product. So now, I have to try and put away some money so I can by a P7 head to replace my JW 8700.
bogie and I would like to thank you for reading the reviews and welcome any comments you may have about this latest review. or your
experience with the JW/HD or TL headlight and/or passing lamps. Please Ride Safe!!
bogie: This time Travis and I are much more in agreement the P7 is the best value and the best overall performance
I think the headlight in black is pure custom and i'm sure it does what it say's on the tin BUT! ...... i will take the vacation ... WAY too much money for a headlight
But, how does the HD $169 dual HID headlights stack up to the LED? That's a shitload more bucks for the led. Are they that much better?
The HD dual light is halogen, not HID. High beam output is good as it uses both bulbs but in no way compares to the HD LED. I have had that light, then the Trucklight then HD. By far the HD is the best. I even modified the dual light harness to accept another higher output high beam bulb for the low beam. Besides not comparing to LED in brightness and illumination, the halogens just draw too much current. HD also makes a HID set up but with a halogen high beam as the low beam is not a bixenon bulb. Seen some on ebay at half price a few week ago ~$200. BTW, passing lamps by TL and HD are better than their headlights.
I have the HD LED headlight and passing lamps, a buddy of mine just went to the TL phase 7 set up. I would say they are comparable and you will not go wrong with either one. I personally like the looks of the HD better and paid the extra cash for that reason. They are a huge improvement over conventional lights.
I went to mine right after a friend of mine hit a vehicle in the road that had crashed and rolled over. He was not able to see it until the last second and wasn't able to fully avoid a collision, causing life changing injuries to him and his wife. I figure I have spent thousands of dollars in bling so the cost of LED's for safety was an intelligent choice for me.
