Royal Purple 5w30
Question:
I've got 11 quarts of Royal Purple 5w30 motor oil I used to run in my '06 GTO. I was thinking about running it in in my '11 RKC primary to use it up. Opinions please.

Check the RP for friction modifiers that may cause clutch slippage. I ran the 10w40 without the modifiers in my primary for a while and had no problems.

I have to believe any 5w-30 oil is going to be energy conserving. Check the star label and see if it has energy conserving on it? If so, don't use it. I'd be safe and not use it. Most 10w-40's and Rotella 15w-40 are a cheap alternative..
