Default handlebars

So I sold my 07 FLSTF and moved up to a 09 road king classic. Idk if these handlebars are stock or someone had replced them but they are aweful. What Handlebars is everyone running?

Pretty much everyone on this site is running apehangers. Along with 21, 23 or 26 inch front wheels, solo seats and extended bags. If you want to be part of the crowd you must do those things.

And now a serious answer to your question. Many do not like the stock bars, which is what it looks like you have in the picture. If you search prior threads on the forum, you will find that many, like me, have swapped them out for the Heritage-style bars that are made for the Road Kings.

The ultimate answer is that it is all very personal. Some will tell you they HATE the Heritage-style while others say that they are the answer to their dreams. My dealer has a fitment bike with no bars and you can pop on a bunch of different bars to see which you like the best.

I replaced my '10 stock handlebars with heritage-style bars... they feel much better, easy swap, and no need to get longer cables.

I went from stock to Heritage style to 14" apes. Im 5-8" with 30" inseam and I needed some serious pullback on the handgrip. After reading a lot about pullback I saved myself some cheddar by skipping a couple steps and just go up to 14". Its was a good call cuz the pullback put me all the way back in my seat/ off my tank and level with my shoulders. I added extra wiring/clutch/ brake lines to accomodate as high as 19's if I wanted to. In my particular case I couldnt find the pullback I needed unless I went with an ape that gave me comfort/handling/ looks or form/fit/function. My wife was having serious mid shoulder pain( shes 5-6") I put 12" apes on hers and it did the exact thing with hers, eliminating the mid shoulder burn. I could not read anything about any other bars other than an ape that hit all 3 areas.
