Freeze the bearing, not heat.

Yeah, that's screwy. Back-asswards. Bet if he really does that, it does a job on the grease in there.

You're getting a lot of advice here aren't ya:
Tap it, don't tap it, hit it, don't hit it, freeze it, heat it, bring me some beer I'll put it in fer ya.

I was always told that most advice is worth what you paid for it.
The forums cracks me up sometimes............lol

I got my King at VCH and I'm not to happy with there service department myself. Rod at the service desk talked to me as if I had never been on a Harley in my life, and the 2 techs that worked on my bike don't have much to brag about ether.
I bought my bike from Jim and got a good price. but I'm not sure I could recommend them.

Not really, Actual labor is what is charged. What you are speaking isually falls in that the charge80-100 labor rate and only pay tech 18-30 an hour

The mechanical labor time is one aspect. The you have the administrative time to write up the work order. The management time to assign the work. The supervisory time to check the work. The man hours labor rate charge guides were never intended to just be a predictor of hor long the actual repair would take.

I guess a 20 ton press will put less pressure on the metal than tapping with a brass or rubber mallet.

I can see where that would work on an outside bearing, like on a spindle.
