Lots of good ideas thanks.no it was Vehicle CityHarley.Out of curiosity I think I will call a couple more today and see what they say .
I got my King at VCH and I'm not to happy with there service department myself. Rod at the service desk talked to me as if I had never been on a Harley in my life, and the 2 techs that worked on my bike don't have much to brag about ether.
I bought my bike from Jim and got a good price. but I'm not sure I could recommend them.
Guess they must have forgotten about the 70s they better wake up or Victory my kick their butts. I know they're in business to make a profit but I think they go a little to far on something's.
Not really, Actual labor is what is charged. What you are speaking isually falls in that the charge80-100 labor rate and only pay tech 18-30 an hour
I bought a new anarchy wheel and while I was there I ask them how much to install a bearing. To my amazement they said it would be an hour and half labor charge. Now look the wheel is off the bike no bearing in it and they want an hour and half labor charge!!! That's pure bullshit it shouldnt take more than 20 minutes tops.I guess they take people to be stupid.Anyway I'm trying to find somebody that has a tool and I'll do it myself. now that I vented I feel better.
I used to work in a pretty high level maint facility that used man hours estimates to record work. The estimates always were longer than the actuals. But the problem is when billing for time, you have to bill for more than just the actual work done.....because there are other man hours cost that need to be recovered. The mechanical labor time is one aspect. The you have the administrative time to write up the work order. The management time to assign the work. The supervisory time to check the work. The administrative time to close out the work order. The support time to notify you that the work was done. etc, etc, etc. It's all about recovering costs. The man hours labor rate charge guides were never intended to just be a predictor of hor long the actual repair would take.
