There's nothing wrong with a 103/255 build, they're certainly better than the stock cams. There's better choices, though, and if I were going to the trouble of swapping in cams, I want all the performance I can. SOP, there's really no difference between a 103/255 and a 103/204 bike. Ride them back-to-back, and you couldn't tell the difference.

I thought it was a good discussion, actually, where everyone was relating their experiences and opinions while doing it in a civil way. The OP seems to appreciate all the input he was getting, too.
Now you've confused me, let me highlight what you've said and what HD say:
SE204 - midrange with peak HP around 5800 revs
SE255 - ultimate low end, great for heavy bikes or for the person who routinely shifts below 4500 revs. Peak power is still made over 5000

My bad. I looked in the Screamin' Eagle catalog and did have it backwards. I am looking for a low end torque cam rather than a midrange cam. I thought the SE204 was the low end torque cam.
__________ line is if you're going to let the dealership do it, then you're going to have to have them sign off on it, and if you are you will probably have to go with their recommendation(s). That should be your first point of consideration.
The rest of the suggestions are a moot point at best.
As far as I know, about the only one that they will warranty will be the 255 for your set up, so that be the case, case closed and so is the cam suggestions.
Thank you all! I am sure there are better cam choices out there but I am going with the SE255 cams so that I can keep my warranty. From stock cams to the 255's is going to feel great and since I've never had aftermarket cams on any of my bikes, I have never felt what better cams are like.

+1...... Exactly!!! Dyno sheets and drag strips are one thing, being happy putting around town is another. I'm sure there are better set-ups than mine, but I'm very happy with my 255s and the generic stage 2 map download. You'll love it!!
One more thing..... Keeping the warrenty is great too. Dyno sheets show the woods 555 & 777 being better than the SE255, but the Harley shop told me even tho they were bolt in cams, they were too aggressive, and would cause problems.
Maybe he's full of it, and was just pushing screaming eagle - I don't know. But I do know, if I still have a warrenty with these, it must be a reliable set-up
Here's one of my 103b with the 255's from a couple of years ago.
Not so much a torque curve as a line of torque. I liked my 255's.
Wish I would have had a 2:1 on that bike!
FWIW, I have 255s in a 96" Road Glide. Just got home from a 600 mile weekend ride. 43mpg avg. Lots of mountain riding and hill climbing. Pulls like a truck. If these cams "fall off" at 4500, I sure don't notice it. The odd time that I might rev it out past 5k is so rare compared to 3000rpm throttle roll on climbing a long hill and pulling away from your buddys stage 1 103.
These are all of the questions that I have been mulling over in my mind as well. I was settled on the 255's for my 103", until the topic of heat build up was brought up. Is that an issue or not? I ride in the heat a lot and in traffic quite a bit. Then I was just about convinced to go with 204's. Will 204's screw with the warranty? It was mentioned that you could ride the 255's and the 204's side by side and not know the difference. HELL FIRE!!!! I'm more confused now than ever!
