A friend with the 103 Stage II setup in his '09 Ultra says his OT never exceeds 230°, which is an indicator, but I would like to see what his CHT's are running as well. I'd also like to find out how accurate his OTG is, but since the CCP for the 103/255 is only 3 psi higher than a stock 103 I doubt if it would run much hotter than a 103 with stock cams. There are other factors that influence this too, like the exhaust valve open timing, IIRC--so I don't know how this all plays out as an overall effect. Of course 103's tend to run hotter than 96 engines anyway, so some or maybe most blame from any temperature increase from a 103/255 mod would lie with the added displacement and compression. Regardless of which cam you install in a 103 I would think of an oil cooler as a requirement, and adding a fan kit like the Ward FCS would help even more.

I ride in the heat a lot and in traffic quite a bit. Then I was just about convinced to go with 204's. Will 204's screw with the warranty? It was mentioned that you could ride the 255's and the 204's side by side and not know the difference. HELL FIRE!!!! I'm more confused now than ever!
With my dealer the traditional answer to warranty issues with engine mods is that you are covered only if you do the work before taking delivery on a new bike.

I'm confused by these warranty questions too, but HD lists the 103 Stage II kit (103 w/255 cams) as a "Legal Stage Kit," which presumably means that it will meet EPA emissions standards when coupled with the Stage II "download." OTOH I see nothing mentioned in the SE catalog about warranty. The 255 and 254E cams are the only SE cams not listed as "for race application only," which sounds favorable to the warranty question. I would ask your dealer about all this and if affirmative would get it in writing.

I had some serious tranny work done to my '07 in warranty while having a PCV and 255 cams installed, both of which I installed myself, and the dealer didn't even mention any of that as an issue. They knew they were there and I never tried to hide it from them, so I think lots of warranty policy lies with the dealer. I'm also fairly sure they didn't mention any of the mods to HD when they called in for the repair authorization.

Well, I finally got it done. I went to the dealership for a set of SE255 cams and came home with a set of T-Man 555 Torqsters.

Performance guy at the dealership sold me on the T-Man cams and these things are awesome. Stump pulling torque and a lope that gave me the Harley sound I lost when I got away from the carbs. Dyno sheet shows 98 HP & 111 ft. lbs. torque. I highly recommend these cams for the 103.

These new cams I saw on the Fuel Moto site look good for low end torque:

" **NEW** 7/24/2012 Fuel Moto is proud to announce a new cam we have been working on with Bobby Wood over the last 6 months called the Wood TW-222. This cam is designed specifically to optimize low RPM and midrange power on stock & lower compression 96" and 103" motors. This cam has .555 lift/short duration/early intake close, we have tested these cams in several motor-exhaust combinations and they make excellent low end torque and run out very smoothly. We have also posted dyno charts lower in this page"

Be sure and check out the dyno chart.

Glad to hear you're happy with your choice!!! I was going to tell you to screw the warranty concerns. IMO, if you're going to drop $1K on a cam install, you should get the cam you want. If warranty is a true concern, save your $1k until the warranty is up and then go with a quality cam that fits your riding style but don't settle on a cam just because it meets the warranty req's.

I probably voided my warranty right of the gate but I've never looked back and couldn't be happier. My setup with Cyclerama 575s will run circles around a stage 2 255 setup and I only paid $800 installed. I still get around 38 mpg riding it like I stole it and around 45-48 mpg on the highway.

Default Called Jamie at Fuel Moto today

I recently had my indy put in a set of 255 cams with a generic stage II download (no dyno)....

I was very happy, I could feel the torque difference running through the gears.... happy until I raced my father-in-law's RK with only a air filter and slipons... and HE HUNG RIGHT WITH ME!!!

We were running about 20mph, and we nailed it, and ran them up to about 80mph... his front tire was probably even with my seat, maybe saddlebags!!!! I was thinking I should pulled away from him as soon as opened them up!!!!

I gave Jamie at Fuel Moto a call, and he is sending me a Power Vision with a new map..... hope it wakes my bike up!!! I was disgusted when I dumped $1,000 into a set of cams, and a bike without them hangs with me!!

Any one get a tuk tuk tuk sound thru the se aircleaner at idle. dealer says it is normal. Sound disapears at about 1200 to 1400 rpm. (Vance Hines power duals. Brand new bike -- dealer installed the cams.
