So, i was wondering about relative air temperature when a dyno tune was done.
If your tune is done when air temp is 75 degree range and then when hotter temps like 90 degree days arrive, what happens to the effective tune that was done.
I had some PING yesterday and it was in the 90 degree range. I called the tuner guy and he said that I was good to go. Are SE 255 cams PING prone?
I run 92 non-corn fuel tho sometimes I gotta run 91 with corn@ 10% tune was done with 92 non corn, and it was pinging with that fuel yesterday.
If another cam with the same torq and HP potnetial and non PING characteristics is out there, I would like to know about it.
As hot as it's been, there are a LOT of pinging threads popping up. Mine has been pinging, too. I've backed the timing down 2 degrees in the affected RPM range and it STILL pings. I just received Jason's fans in the mail Friday and am putting them on today hoping it will alleviate the pinging. My tune is setup for 91 Octane w/10% Ethanol. I've been running 93 w/10% and still have issues.
i am having the se 255 put in he says i will hear different noise cant remember what kind of noise he told me about 26oo- 2900 rpm he says not to worry it is the nature of the se255 cams.

Jason's fans? Got a link?
I was pulling a grade 5th gear and 60-65 mph solo without and extra gear.
Ping is not good, so I rolled back off throttle and eased back on with slight ping.
http://www.realty-northwest.com/Expl...mpson-Pass.htm this is where I got the most Ping heading up Thompson Pass Elevation over 6,000 ft. I live at 2100 ft and that is about the elevation where the dyno tune shop was in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho
