Default Gauge bulbs
Has anyone replaced these using non harley lamps? I would like to use a bulb with a darker cover on the bulb. Thanks, Vinnie

I buy my bulbs at O'Reilly Auto and they have been fine, I use the cover off the Harley one and slip it on the new bulb. O'Reilly has some different colors though...

You are right. Can't figure why a vendor would disallow free advertising.

SO...you can put different colored led bulbs?
what is the HD replacement bulb number? what would the # be at a auto parts store?
i thinking the led's would be a lot brighter...also
where can i get the light bulb covers

If you are talking about the 4 gauges other than the tach and speedo, they take a 194 wedge base bulb. You can get colored one's at most auto parts stores and can order good LED versions from www.superbrightleds.com. If you order LED's, make sure they have a wide beam spread or you will just get a hot spot on the middle of the gauge face.

i want to change all the gauges. i was told to replace the speedo and tach...i would have to take apart the whole gauge

I've ordered lights from them before and there great. it looks like they have a few options for the 194
