Im looking for a decent GPS that I can use with my gloves on. Id rather not spend the $500-$900 you have to spend on the Garmin Zumo's. Any suggestions?
Here we go again. While you're at it perhaps we could also discuss what brand of oil to use?
ok - seriously tho' I confess to being one of those people who believes that a general purpose GPS will do me just fine. I currenty have a Garmin 2450 (5inch) with lifetime maps. It works great. Large screen is good for gloved fingers. And it only cost me $100.
The old saying, ya get what ya pay for....
Course a Garmin 665 would be best, but a Garmin Nuvi 550 is waterproof....
But, any of the Garmin Nuvi's will work, just remember they're not waterproof and you'll have to protect them or remove in rain....but the only ones I'm aware of the are glove friendly are the Zumo's....
I had a nuvi 760 that I use in my truck, works well and would think it would work on the bike, but not waterproof or glove friendly...that's why I have a Zumo 550 for the bike...but that's me...

Perfect. Thats what I wanted to hear. LOL I'd keep using my Iphone if I didnt have to take my gloves off all the time to mess with it. I dont need anythign that tells me where every harley shop is. Nor do I care if it has the harley logo on it. Just want it to work.
You get what you pay for. Zumo 660 for me but were it available when I got mine I would gone with the new 350LM with included lifetime map updates. If it rains I don't even have to think about it and the peace of mind is worth the price.
You got what, about 30k into your bike? Prolly more. Why you guys skimp on something so useful after you have laid out so much money on a bike is beyond me.

Reason: shaking my head
they sell conductive tape (i'm buying some now) to sew through your gloves so that the iphone would work. My garmin Nuvi works with my gloves as is though. I'm going to use my iphone combined with motion x
I just use a $100 Garmin with a Ram Mount (www.mountguys.com). You can mount it on the bars and use the lighter socket puchase a separate hard wire for your unit and run switched power from the fairing. I mounted mine to the inner fairing with a hard wire.

Because most are stretch out on the payment and insurance and most have a wife they answer to....Which I find ball-less.
