Ok everyone be nice, new to two thing....Harley and this forum... Just bought a 12 roadking classic and f...love it.. Have about 2500 miles on board. I do hate the bill board plate on the back side of my sissy bar. Any advice or direction to best mods for relocating or simple lay back plate holder would be much apprceaited. I do not want to drill holes. I am willIng to replace light bar though. Thanks in advance hope to ride with each and every one of you..
the other style RK light bar puts the plate below the signal bar, the signal bar has an led built in, which is easy to wire to 12 volt under the taillight.
and you can swap to a lens with-out the light window on top.
you'll notice the light bar is not as wide.
all harley parts available at the dealer, or look used, some RK riders use a streetglide light set up and sell the stock unit
Part # 60280-07 Layback License Bracket works just fine even though the specs say it isn't for a RKC. The only thing that doesn't fit is the stick-on reflector. I installed it on mine and it looks fine. They retail for about $45.
I hated my upright plate that look like a billboard. Especially given the huge plates that we have up here. I relocated mine below the light bar using the Softbrake plate relocation bracket. It was $40. Then bought a new lens for about $20. from J&P which allows the light to shine below the light bar onto the plate. You do have to purchase a LED tail light bulb as the normal bulb gets too warm and will melt the lens. Check it out www.softbrake.com
