I'm planning on taking my FLHX with me on vacation this year. So she'll spend the week outside (no garage or anyplace I could even make her fit inside) on a dirt driveway, heavily wooded. Would prefer she not get completely crapped all over. Can someone recommend a good quality outdoor cover that will fit well? If it was just this one trip I might just go with a tarp or something but, I'm also planning a 9 day trip next year, so she'll be out in a lot of parking lots overnight. So something that can pack small, be durable and last decent would be appreciated.
Wal-Mart and Menards here both sell generic covers (have straps, etc). Cheap and roll up pretty thin. Have used this last one for two years and no problems. DON'T get that says "Harley" on it: makes it way too easy for the thieves. My next cover will say "Honda" on it !!
I have a Nelson Riggs in X large, maybe XX and it will cover any bagger. Think I paid about $45.00. Waterproof and has vents that keep condensation from building up.
On trips were I have to leave my bike outside I just use one of my wife's king size cotton sheets. It's good at absorbing moisture at night plus it breaths.
I have the H-D cover but opted not to go with the Bar and Shield logo. I already it's a Harley under the cover and that's all that matters. Stows well in the hardbag and good snug fit so the wind doesn't blow it around too much.
