I have a 2012 limited. Stage 1 done, but header pipes stock. Thinking about installing a set of Jackpot header pipes. For those that have changed out there headers will this reduce heat much, and did you notice any HP or torque gain. After riding most of the day last month, then riding the Dragon a couple times, got caught in traffic, and the bike was really running hot, hope this would cool it down a bit. I know i could install some fans, but not sure about that route, I dont know of anyone that runs them.
I've been thinking about this add-on after seeing a couple of RK Police Models with them. I was told it works good at deflecting some of the engine heat. Maybe someone can chime in that have actual seat time with these on their bike. I'm interested too.

Yeah if the funds were available I would have liked the SS Jackpot pipes from FM. I decatted my header and yes it does run cooler by my right foot and It did feel like seat of the pants performance was better. I believe decatting should be included in any stage 1.
Same here, a buddy helped me decat and it's much cooler than before. My wife is much happier on long trips. I also noticed a seat of the pants slight boost in power, but I don't have the numbers to prove it.
HUGE reduction in heat when I did Vance & Hines Power Duals. Also put on some V&H High Output slip-ons, and have a noticeable difference in power. (2011 103 Limited Ultra) Good torque also. At 60 mph on a 2-lane, I don't have to go down to 5th to pass somebody.
I have the FM 2-1-2 stainless header. Love it's design, the heat is gone, and the exhaust flow is much more even (between right and left) than the stock header. You'll be glad you switched.
I have the heat deflectors on my 2010 SG, HUGE difference on teh back of my legs while riding at slow speeds. WORTH THE MONEY. I just bought Vance & Hines power duals with Rinehart 4" slip ons.....cant wait to install them.
If you are looking for heat deflectors check out Captain Itch. He makes leather deflectors. All that is required to install is take off your seat, set deflector in place, and put your seat back on. Great quality and super fast shipping.
