So i just purchased a 2000 RK a few weeks back. Its got about 28k + or -. Im planning on digging into the cam tensioners, and I figured I'd do the cams as well. I have a good buddy, that actually had a set of Andew 26's that he bought and never used. He's going to give me a smoking deal on them. However, I've been looking for a map for the PCIII for my setup. I've been reading that the MM injection is a nightmare, and it takes a special touch to get it dialed in.
I talked to a local shop, and he said he'd need to spend most of the day on the dyno with it, and that he was even a little scared to attack himself. I've also read the complete opposite, and that its as simple as getting a new map. What do I believe.
Here's its current setup.
Bub true Duals,
Rinehart Mufflers
Screaming Eagle AC
PCIII
I have a 99 RK in which I just had a 95" kit installed. It also has a PCIII in it now, and as far as I know they had no problem with it on the dyno. Also had 510 gear-drive cams installed. Dyno chart shows 95 HP and 107 ft-lbs. The bike runs great, so I don't think there was any problem with the Marelli FI.
Ok great. Thanks for the response. I was starting to figure that. I mean I know those MM EFI's can be a little finicky, but I've seen/read plenty of upgrades people have done with it.
