07 road king classic with slip ons .Getting ready to pc111/ k& n. Can i tune this myself with lap top or do i need to dyno it?? I like the way the bike runs after the re-flash but all keep reading how much better it will run with pc111.can some one give me a personal idea of thier gains with these upgrades? Gas mileage is somewhat important ..Thanks...
HUGE DIFFERENCE WITH PCIII - like night and day - can't be adequately described - like a new bike!!!
On my '05 Ultra, I took the closest canned Dynojet map to my setup and tweaked it on my own repeatedly - trial and error.
Actually had allot of fun doing it. Ran a long USB cable from my desktop out my office windowto the scoot - it took three 10 foot cables but it still worked.
Then I had the dealer do a dyno for the hell of it and the curves were almost identical before/after.
Bottom line - it can be done - just time consuming.
i have a 2001 RK with screamin eagle air cleaner, true duals, rush slip-ons and S&S 510G cams. the PCIII was wonderful after i downloaded the MAP that Jamie at Fuelmoto sent me at no charge. Recommend buying the PCIII from fuelmoto and it will come with a MAP based on your personal bike.

Might I suggest you do as most all of us PCIII buyers have been doing and buy from Jamie at FuelMoto, he will program it for you using his dyno tested maps free before sending it to you. With the limited addons you are doing it will run great with his map and no need to drop the extra cash on dynos. His price is great, I think it was 299.00. The only other thing you can do is use a map from dynojets site or have it set by a dynojet tuning center. Jamie is one of the biggest dynojet tuning centers and his maps are awesome. Added plus! he doubles your PCIII warranty if you buy from him.
Bought my pcIII from Jamie before he was bigtime on the forums, glad I did. his customer servies is second to none every map he has sent me has been very close to what i ended up with after dynoing.
will I be dissapointed if I skip dinotune and run on a bone stock 07????
(thought about the long usb cable from desktop) just want this bike to cool off and power maybe.

If Dynojet has a map for your setup on their website, it will be 95% accurate. That is close enough to make most people happy with the improvement. If you need that 5%, then get the dyno tune done.
When I was at just 88" stage 1, I used Dynojet's map for my exact setup. I then went to the dyno and have it checked out and the AFR was perfect, and the tuner said he would be wasting his time trying to do any tuning on it.
Yes a dyno is recommened for BEST overall performance/satisfaction.No two bikes are exactly alike and what works best up north may not do so in Fla.These maps may not be exact to your current setup but something close will allow you to atleast ride bike to be dynoed w/o damage or drivability issues.
