2012 Stock 103 Cams - is there a market for these??
Is there a market out there for a set of stock 103 cams off my road king classic. I just made a switch and have no idea if there is any market for these and if im wasting my time in trying to sell these. They're in perfect condition, I just don't know if anyone looks for these kind of things. If so...what's a fair price for them?
They would be of interest to someone who wants an unusual door-stopper, but I doubt if you'll find anyone interested in them as replacements. I've heard of some stock cams having problems with the hardened lobe surface disintegrating and one or two with the modular units coming apart, so there might be someone out there looking for a good used pair from time to time, but I wouldn't think you'd get much for them even if a buyer did surface.
I have two sets of stock cams and one Evo cam here and I haven't even attempted to sell any of them. The Evo cam sits on a shelf in the hutch of my den, which gives you a clue how low my taste is for household adornments. I keep thinking someone will ask about it someday and an interesting conversation will ensue, but such hasn't happened in the 15 years it's been there.
Most of the used take-out parts are next to worthless, but sometimes can be sold for a couple of bucks. Used stock cams are an exception, they're completely worthless.
What about the 255's that I had in mine before I went with the 259E's with the stage IV?
That's a whole different ball game. You should be able to get $150 for those on Ebay or in the for-sale section of this forum, assuming they're in good shape.
