Default Stock Bars - Riser? Adjustment?

so i can't swing paying for new bars right now, so i was wondering if the stock bars can be modified with some risers or some rigged up spacer of some sort.

i'm okay with the stock bar shape and hand position, but at 5'9", i could use the bars back to me by about 1-1/2" or so.

is there any way to do this without changing out the bars and getting longer cables, etc?

thanks.

What model bike you got WU, most Touring models have some kind of movement adjustment?

I rolled my bars back about that amount the other day. I don't know about SG but on a Road King you just loosen two screws that are hidden under a plastic cover. Made enough difference until my new bars go on.

You should be able to roll them back but this will lower them as well. Also, watch for tank clearance. I don't think you can put risers on without different fairing parts - but that's from memory without looking it up.

You cant use risers without loosing or modifying the cover. But a lot of times it makes a big difference to pull the bas back to the rider. Just remove the plastic cover and loosen the clamps and pull the bars back towards you. be careful that you still have clearance in full lock right and left between the bars and your tank console. Also dont forget to adjust the lever position because as you pull the bars back the levers will point more upward so usuall you want to turn them back down
