I bought the Kruzer Kaddy. I love it!!! It is true you really can't use it for anything carbonated and if it's more than 3/4's full ya better have a cap. It still gets enough use though. I see it as a necessity on a long ride to stay hydrated.
I bought one of those ash trays that fits in the Zruzer Kaddy.....I can easliy smoke my cigars while riding and no longer litter with the cigar butts.........
Worst "upgrade" for me was trading in my 2004 Heritage in on a used 2006 Ultra CVO......I redeemed myself by trading it in on a 2010 Street Glide. Loving it now.
Jeans were rubbing the paint on my gas tank. Bought a tank bra! It did more damage than my jeans, not to mention I had to remove to wash the bike. Solution was to get floorboard extentions. That was money well spent.
I too bought the tank bra to prevent "scuffing" of the paint on my 11 Ultra. Right off I saw it was going to be more trouble than it was worth. I gave it to my son for his new 12 FLHTC. He had it on for a month or so, removed it to wash the bike and discovered some grit got under there and scratched the paint. He ended up giving it away with the warning that it would likely cause damage to the paint when dirt or grit got under it. The dealer rep said "yeah those things are like sandpaper when some grit gets under it". Total waste of money. Funny how they always mention the problems after the fact.
HD HID Headlight. Who tested and approved this thing - light pattern is a joke, if adjusted so you can see a reasonable distance, you end up with a 'shadow' or dark area from the front tire to the lower part of the beam. I end up riding at night with high beam on most of the time just so I can see. Granted I purchased this with the bike in 06 so they may have made changes to correct these safety concerns. Bottom line, if LED's were available back then, I wouldn't be responding to this. Next purchase - Truck Lite Phase 7 LED for both my Road King and wife's 883 Superlow.
