I had a tough time figuring out the buffeting. I tried different shields but never got it right. I'm sure eventually I would have figured it out. I just really enjoy being able to take the shield off the RK on hot summer days and just cruise. Interestingly enough the RK without a shield was more comfortable than the SG buffeting. I still like the SG and if I were to buy a bike with a faring, that would be the one. But I'd have to have a second bike for my cruising.

Understood. Based on my experience, it isn't just the windshield, but the helmet type (FF for me) and arm position (handlebar height) are also contributors . Also the fork baffle helps as well.

So what is the center hole in the front of the fairing on the Victory? Is it the Flux Capacitor

I really appreciate everyone sharing all of their mistakes, it will same me some money for sure.

As far as the wife thing goes, my first one was a serious nut job and my current one told me to buy my 2013 Anv ultra limited instead of a classic.

Thanks again

First Mistake: Paying $279+tax for the Road King Classic Saddlebag Lock Kit (P/N 46316-04). Thought it would make me feel better when leaving leathers, etc. in the bags while away from the bike. Doesn't, especially when it only takes 10 seconds to pop the whole bag off from the outside and walk away with it (provided the thief is out of handgun range).

Second Mistake: Having the $tealer install said locks. It took the tech FOUR HOURS at $60 per hour to finish the job. To his credit, they came out fantastic, but he had never installed them before, so I paid for his OJT. It would have taken me twice as long, and I would have messed something up. But it should have only taken a tech two hours, tops.

Total Cost of Worthless Add-On: $519+tax.

Partial Redemption: Brukus SaddlebagSecure kit. At least my bags might stay on the bike now....

I thought that the dealers all went by a book which states how long jobs take before we commit.

Worse upgrade for me was XM radio. Too expensive, Bad customer relations, nightmare to discontinue service and nobody there speaks English.

In theory, anyway. The service manager initially told me it would take no more than two hours. When I checked in with him at the two-hour mark, he told me that he had good news: the tech was done with ONE of the bags and shouldn't be more than another hour. Of course that hour turned into two....

I considered complaining to the owner, but didn't think I'd get very far. So I decided to simply never have any more work done on my bike there (which is a shame, since I bought my bike there and really like the dealership as a whole and the sales staff in particular). Fortunately there are two other dealerships that are roughly the same distance for me, so I'm not limited to just one option.

Thumbs down

hidden biketronics antenna. total waste of time on my part. radio reception just totally sucked. I live about 40 miles from the station and here in western Pa. riding the hills and back roads the hidden antenna was worthless.
