Hawg Wired speakers PN SX502-60 sound great with the engine off and the bike on the side stand. At 55mph and above they were slightly better than stock and not worth the $180 and time to install.
The HD headlamp 7" visor bezel turned out to be a $42 POS. I could never eliminate the gap on the bottom. Looking straight at the headlamp the inner diameter would warp out of round. Below is the result of the last attempt to fix the issues with that POS.
This entire thead has me laughing to myself with my wife wondering what I'm enjoying more than her company. This had me literally LOL as I nearly do this every time I look at that f'n gap. I don't think anyone can completely get rid of it. The other day I was looking the box this came in hanging on the dealer's wall and even the picture on the box, if you look closely, has a gap.
Even so, I still want to rip the thing off and throw it across the street.
Thanks to all posting in this thread. So far I've validated that Kuryakan does look like plastic, not chrome; my hesitation with J&M products is in fact, devine intervention; and I'm glad I installed my tw-222 myself and have a new feeling motor and bike for around $500.
For me, it has to be the Harley Davidson center stand....What a pita to use...
Wished I had gone with the WheelDock EZ-Up center stand....I kick myself every time I see how easy my friend puts down the EZ-Up center stand in his bike...
I'm likely going to keep posting as I keep reading through this thread; what GREAT feedback!
The EZ-Up centerstand, with a little wood underneath to help elevate the rear wheel just a touch, was what I used to install my cams this weekend rather than a lift. If I had a scissors jack and front wheel dock or something comparable, that would have worked great...but my centerstand did the trick and never felt unstable.
I'll admit, I've always been a little shy with it, I always make sure I'm good and on level ground or else I use the jiffy stand. But, once you get used to it, has a whole variety of uses. This weekend I'll use it again to completely polish my wheel and spin it rather than keep pushing the bike forward bit by bit as I clean.
For all those who didn't like the saddlebag lid organizers...... I took the double sided tape off mine and replaced it with 3M double sided tape made for extreme duty. Costs me about $15 , but I can now load them up with stuff and they don't move a bit.
Absolutely. I just picked up some of this stuff from Wally-World on the way home from work as mine decided to come loose and hang this weekend. Great advice and I hope because you beat me to it that this solution not only works but has been helping others between your post and my idea to pick this stuff up today and give it a whirl.
Ok, so my turn.
Worst thing ever bought, wasted money, wasted time, wasted gas driving back and forth to the dealer was this weekend.
A replacement +4 clutch cable. The one I ordered and installed with my WO575's started to frey where it gets moderately pinched between the fairing and frame with the bars to the left. I blindly only asked my parts guy (new guy at the dealership, can't fault him too much) for a stainless, braided, diamondback +4 for a '12 SG. He gave me a +4 but to all others, beware, there are variations of lengths and where the adjustment is on them. The adjuster was too high and I didn't really notice it until I had already had it in the clutch release cover and the cover was mounted back on.
Not a big deal, but kinda blows when it takes a couple days to order the wrong one and another couple of days to order the right one.
I take the ding on that one, ALWAYS make sure you do your research, don't rely on someone else, but nonetheless...wasted cash.
Everything else I've done with my old FXDF and my current FLHX has been great.
Me - Fairing mirrors. They do look cool and streamlines the EGC. I just can't get use to the limited or restricted visibility compared to the stock style. My neighbor loves his and thinks i am dead wrong on this! LOL Go figure! (He is shorter than me so may make a difference)

Mine has a gap around the ring too; but it doesn't bother me. It covers the dent I put in my stock ring when I dropped it on the cement LOL...no, I like my ring a lot. Just like i love my new black engine guard. It looks better than the stock chrome one I took off yesterday. The stock one did its job well last week when I laid the Ultra down in a gravel ditch....the Fairings left Lower is gone too. Anyone got a nice used, Fairing Lower for a "07 FLHT preferably in Vivid Black? My 250 watt Amp and fancy Speakers are still my biggest waste of what I recall spending $750 on, $19.99 Loves truck stop earbuds are supierier in every way accept comfort. I still use the J&Ms for backup...LMFAO...invest in parts my friends...not accessories.

This really is one of THE Biggest WASTE of $$$ there is. That new, young guy @ HD's counter cannot see exactly what it is your working on twenty five miles away in an already poorly lit garage. I cannot count the wasted days and weeks I've waited and all the gas I've wasted going back and fourth to the Dealer/Auto Parts/Independent shop or whatever...actually the Indepenent guy is really good about not sending me home with the wrong *****. But you have to come up with creative ways to use this guys talent because he needs to make a living too just like me...Credit American Custums in Buckley Wa for that...thank you very much for the wisdom you shared with me a novice.
Mine was J&m 7.25 speakers. Paid alot and could get no good sound out of them. Installed an ELF amp and Hogtunes tweeter bar. Holy S does that thing rock now. For all you guys with J &M's do yourself a favor and install a quality amp. You wont regret it except you may go deaf . Oh yeah dont forget the tweeter bar.
