Speedo Security light??????
I've never heard of marrying a radio to the ECM. But it doesn't matter, I found the problem. It was the Hawg Wired handlebar control adapter. I replaced it today then cleared the DTC code and rode around for an hour or so. The red key is gone, or back to normal, the sixth gear indicator light is back, the cruise control works, all the radio controls work and the DTC code never came back.
I don't understand how the hawg wired adapter is connected the the TSSM other than they both deal with handlebar controls, and they are not even the same controls. But the hawg wired adapter was definitely the problem.
I have to go to work now but when I get a chance I'm going to make a separate post on this to give everyone a heads up, it is such a screwy thing probably no one would think of checking for this.
Once on my Sportster when I left the engine running and drifted downhill for a while in nuetral. I didn't like that. Gave me a neutral switch error code. No big deal, just cleared it and went on.
Similar thing happen last week on my Streetglide except I had the clutch pulled in and was very slowly drifting downhill in gear. I saw the light was on and let out on the clutch and it went out. Never came on again.
Seams Harelys don't like to drift allot.
Glad you found the problem....electrical can be a PIA at times.
