If you have cruise then the next time you have a uncongested straight-a-way put cruise on and put both hands up in a natural straightened wrist position. 10" would be about where your mirrors are.
Thanks for the info.

I just ordered in Wo557B for my ultra due to the fact that the handlebars hit my knees during tight slow speed turns. I have gotten used to just leaving a leg down to let the bars clear.

Cant wait to get them installed.

I did the WO575 on my limited. Cut 3/8 off the left side. Worked fine. Wild Ones even says you will need to on their web site. Used a +4 clutch cable and the front brake line was fine. All in all he install was easy. I also did the HD poly riser bushings. Just figured it was a good time to do them.
The bars are now in the perfect place right in the palms of my hands. I didn't think a simple bar change would affect the looks of the bike but I really like the look of the bars and the internal wiring! A world of difference!

Now if I can get my seat to agree with my butt........

I had 12" minis on my RK and they helped my shoulder discomfort and also improved tight turns- I too was hitting the bars on my thighs in slow speed turns. Those 12's were perfect!
Will look to get the 12's again on my Limited, but first I need to also figure out my seating dilemma. Want to find the correct seat/reach before shelling out $$$ deciding on the perfect bars.

I guess if they were called high comfort touring bars, in choice of 12", 14" 16"...etc...they might be more acceptable...LOL.
I currently have 2" touring pullback HD bars and i like them better than stock for sure... i might do (high comfort touring bars) in 12" this winter....

You are right. If you look at the shape of the stock bars (at least on mine) they are the same shape as "apes." I think some envision apes as being hands at eye level or higher. I think manufacturers call bars "apes" that are basically high rise touring bars - 10 inch minis come to mind.

I put WO 577's on my SG because the stock bars made my back hurt. With the tall bars I could ride all day no problems.
