I don't like the look if the bars are above the fairing. It may be fashionable at this time, but so is spiked, multie colored hair and rings thru the nose! If you like it, go for it! Just not for me.

Agreed. That's why my 10" MBB's are perfect and I lowered my seat to get that extra bit of height.
I extended the clutch cable 4" and extended the wires myself. The brake line is stock (more than enough slack in the fairing). The 10's go right at or just below the fairing. I've had 12's on my last 2 bikes and these are well below my shoulders. If I had to do it again I think I would go with 11" Santee's (a lot less hassle internal wiring). I liked these because they are a little narrower than the majority of the bagger apes out there (I don't like really wide bars). I reseached the he!! out of what is out there before I bought. We do long distance riding and these are comfortable for me. Whether anyone, other than me, likes them or not is not my condern.
I put WO 577's on my SG because the stock bars made my back hurt. With the tall bars I could ride all day no problems.
Now I get it! Just returned from my first road trip 1500 miles in 4 days and my upper back is nothing short of crippled. I'll be in the hunt for a taller set of bars that also pull back a bit.
Just recieved my custom 10" MBB's today. They are custom b/c PY doesn't chrome under the grips normally. (I have Battistini's) So I'm starting to open the box and I'm thinking to myself. Self, you should had 11's made since they was custom anyway. Coulda had the only set of 11" MBB's out there!!! Looks like it still woulda been low enough to not look like they are sticking up above batwing and bet I could still use stock brake line. Oh well. I think it is too late. Unless someone wants to buy a set of 10's? (Fell free to respond if interested but I'll warn you I'm still on the fence)

Well if those in the picture are what you are talking about, they look like they are taller than the fairing and uncomfortable to boot! But I would have to ride it to know for sure about the latter.

These are from Hill Country customs and I kept the heated grips but went with the ***** g heated grips to keep with uniformity of the bike I think they are so comfortable. It took a small bit of time, 5minutes to get used of them but I love them, so yes you can have apes, not that they are large apes, but they really beat the hell out of the stock bars. No more sleepy right arm and shoulder pain. Plus HCC makes the istall very easy with a wiring harness
