emblem adhesive removal...

okay, so today I decide to remove the tank HD emblems, I like the clean look.... I did this on previous bikes with no issues, but this one was a bitch.... 3m must have a new glue process... what does everyone use to get off the remainder of the double sided tape adhesive? I tried lighter fluid (worked perfect for 25 years) goo gone, mineral spirits, some orange citrus stuff, and i'm not successfull yet...

what say you?

My emblem on a 2012 rode glide fell off in the firts few miles. It had tape just on the ends.
Try a 3m wheel they work good

I use PB Blaster. Spray it liberaly and allow it to release the adhesive in its own time, spraying more as needed. It actually disolves the double sided tape but will not hurt the factory paint. I can't speak for all other paint formulations though so follow up with a soap & water wash & rinse after. You can use dental floss to aid in removal, along with the PB Blaster. Good luck!

Yeah, it's a stripe/decal eraser. They work great. I put them on an air or electric 3/8" drill. Takes the decal or stripe and the adhesive off at the same time. I've been using them for years and I have yet to see it damage the paint underneath. Wax and grease remover works well on the adhesive too. It turns the adhesive into baby snot, easy to wipe off.
