I bought an Ultra Limited in upstate NY 5/2/12 with the purpose of driving back to SD,CA on 6/10/12 after a break-in period.
I bought the limited because of the extras (ABS, alarm, chrome wheels, heated grips), but for the trip I added the following;
1) SE air cleaner, SE slip-on exhausts, SE255 cams, & HD download
2) HD Ipod adapter
3) Zumo RoadTech 660 GPS w/fairing mount & NAV interface
4) HD LED turn signals and BAL-1 LED tail light
The ride was awesome, the bike performed perfectly, and it was extremely comfortable.
The only issue was that heat was uncomfortable when in stop & go traffic and ambient temps were near or above 100 degrees.
So, after the ride, the only pending changes are to install a fuelmoto tune with the PV tuner (being shipped as we speak) and probably their jackpot 2-1-2 ceramic coated header in the near future.
Bought mine as soon as the dealer could sell it. Added stage 1 and download, se fatshotz, adjustible backrest, extended view mirrors (with wide angle on end), higjway pegs, chrome around the radio, switches and speakers. Am going to add bal taillight. Hands down the best bike I have owned .6k miles right now. Bike pulls strong, rides great, mileage mid 40s and getting bettet.
Bought my 2012 in Dec 2011 and have 7500 miles on her. Love the ride and comfort. I did the stage 1 download, Reinhart mufflers, SE AC and Xieds. The rest is stock. I ride two up 90% of the time with no issues and the OL loves it. I am still amazed at the low speed manuverability and for a 900 lb machine how nimble in the twistys she is.
The 2012 Ultra Limited is an incredible bike. It comes from the factory with lots of upgrades already. Things I'd recommend beside all of the chrome doo-dahs that everyone buys anyway:
Do a Stage 1 upgrade. (slip on's K&N air filter and Screaming Eagle tuner) Replace the seat (I went Road Zeppelin and HD Adjustable back rest) GPS (I went with a Garmin attached with a handlebar Ram system) Floor board extenders (Harley Goodies) Brukus saddlebags attachment bolts. (Saddlebag fell of at 70mph using stock pins, $700 repair. All my fault as I didn't secure the pins) Battery Tender (Use every time you're done riding and get six years per battery) Adjustable highway pegs. HD LED Airwing lid rails (stops scuff marks on the lids but LEDs are worthless) HD triple pouch windshield bags with magnetic closures. HD glove box doors with magnetic closures.
This was a good start. If my wife figures out how much this cost she'll shoot me.
Like mine too. Got 3400 miles on it and no complaints. The 103 and 6 speed are the best combo HD put out yet. I added LED rear brake lights, Bassani slip-ons, and a mini beast horn. No complaints.
I just bought mine 2 weeks ago. Love it. I chromed the front end, chrome heated grips, chrome wheels and rotors, k&n air filter, screaming eagle race tuner, 255 cam, changed the head pipe and rinehart slip on. My wife is 6' so we lowered the floor boards 2" and moved the tour pak back 3" thanks to kuryakyn. Looks good and runs good. I traded an 09 ultra.
