Bought mine at the end of May. I'm retired, but recently took a temp job in Oklahoma. Not much time to ride, but have managed to get 5700 miles on it. I LOVE it. I came from a Dyna that I put 30K miles on in 2 1/2 years. I really thought I would loose handling when I traded to the Limited. MAN!!! Was I wrong. The Limited handles MUCH better than the Dyna, in my opinion.
I've gone through the bike and changed out all the filament type lights. Mine is TOTAL LED. Headlights, driving lights, the tour pack wrap around LED's, the airwing tour pack rack light and all the turn signals are HD. The rear fender tip is Custom Dymanics with running and brake light. The front fender tip is a 24 LED circuit board that neatly fits inside the amber lens. The brake light is a BAL. I also have bling lights from Joe Florida in orange. Looks good on a black bike.
The one thing that I take exception to is the color. I got mine in Vivid Black, which was a mistake. I didn't care for the other two-toned options at all. But the black shows dust really bad. I have taken hours to clean and polish the bike only to have the first parts that I cleaned already coated with dust!
I absolutely LOVE the bike. Well, except for the right side heat issue. I'll get that taken care of this winter. Already have the Power Vision ordered and the air cleaner bought. Just pipes and mufflers to go. Then I can do the work!
Bought my 2012 limited a couple of months ago. 4000 miles so far. It's loaded up pretty good at this point; V&H power duals, high flow, PCV, chrome front end, painted inner fairing (Harley one), chrome dash treatment chrome floor boards, rear brake, shifter, headlight and breaklight treatment, detachable tourpack, backrest, windsplitter, wind deflectors and a few more non-essentials. Considering a different seat although the stock one is breaking in and getting more comfy for distance. the Ultra limited is an fantastic machine.
Mine has been excellent overall. Did have a problem with the voltage regulator, but Harley took care of that in short order. Only complaint for me is mine runs HOT in stock form. I dread getting stuck in any kind of traffic and generally don't ride to work for this very reason. Working on some solutions for that now.
I took a nice long two-up trip earlier this month to TN/NC and the bike really showed it's strength. We were both extremely comfortable the whole time and were able to pack everything we wanted with room to spare. A huge improvement for us over my previous BMW.
How did you install the heated grip with the ape? I was going to put a 14 inch on my FLHTK 2011 but the heated grip gave me problem. Thanks
I used the Santees 11" bars. The grips didn't want to fit on the new bars so we cut the ends off of the stock bars and the ends off of the new bars. Welded the stock ends onto the new bars and there you have it.
