Default Smart Security Opeation

I am thinking about adding a HD smart security system to my 2012 Ultra Classic part number 68200-07a. My question is the instructions state to turn ign. off with key I am trying to get away from locking my switch all the time. Can someone explan to this old man.
. After riding your vehicle, park and switch the ignition off with your key. Within 5 seconds the Security System will automatically self-arm, disabling your vehicle starter, ignition and electronic fuel injection

that is correct, you only have to turn the ignition key to "off" for the system to work, you do not need to lock it.

If everything is working right, just turn the switch to off and walk away and it should arm. Your turn signals should blink showing it's armed.

Are you installing the security yourself? I am picking up a street glide this week and the stealer said I had to order it as a package with ABS and I do not want to do that. I know don't start yelling at me about how I need ABS but I have chose not to but do want the security.

security can be added. abs cannot. if you want abs, you have to buy both. but if you want security, you can add it from the p&a catalog. you can even install it yourself, but the dealer does have to 'marry' the fob to your bike. and most will charge just as much to do that as the whole install.
