Brake cable question
I have a 2012 RKC. When I bought it, the dealer put on WildOnes 508 bars (which were loose when I picked up the bike...but that's another story) and a 1" lower Progressive monotube kit in the front...so he basically had the whole front end apart.
Although the brake cable has some slack, when I turn the bars lock to lock, the brake cable hangs on the fuel cap. Not enough to interfere with turning, but it still makes me a little nervous to leave it like that for long. I haven't had the headlight housing off the bike yet, but it appears that the brake cable snakes behind the headlight and down to the calipers. I can't just pull up on the cable. I'm wondering is there a clip somewhere behind the headlight housing I can loosen and give myself maybe another 1/2" of slack and get some clips to hold the brake cable up against the handlebars so it doesn't hang on the fuel cap or is it more complicated than that? Looks like I got plenty of slack below the headlight, and in theory my forks are 1" shorter then they were when that brake line was installed.
I could always get that pop-up fuel cap so the cable doesn't hang on it too...but I just want to know what my options are, and pulling another 1/2" of cable is a lot cheaper than that pop-up fuel cap kit.
So is it as simple as pulling up some more cable or will I have to replace it?
