I have a new set of SE255 cams I am going to put in my bike as soon as the warranty is up(3 more months). My question is will these cams cool my operating temps or will my Limited still run hot? I already have the cams and all the gaskets and pushrods so changing to a different cam is not an option at this time.
Mine ran fair, but still pretty hot, with SE255's and the HD download.
I just got a powerVision from FuelMoto with one of Jaime's tunes and it feels like a different bike! Can't tell if it's cooler, it seems to be, but it definitely runs a lot better...!
So I'll have to second that the tune will make a big difference....!
I assume it would run cooler simply because of it building more torque at less revs so it will take less throttle to get ip up to and maintain speed.
Just a thought
They will run HOT as posted previously. The tune will only reduce temps so much. Log your head temps and oil temps now and log them after the install. They are a good cam for a bagger, if you can live with the increased heat. Good Luck!!
I cant tell dif on heat but bike runs better. A yr ago everybody praised the 255's now all of a sudden everybody slam'n them. I dont get it. Im happy with mine. I a couple buddies with SG's with 103's as well. All similar set ups. My bike will run off and leave them like they sit'n still. One buddy has same exact set up 130 power duals n v h slip ons. Only dif is stock cams. I outweigh him by 40lbs and still leave him like he sitn still. Even when we switch bikes se result my bike will pull away with ease. So I jus dint get all the new 255 cams suck talk in here.
