Tried moving the grips back, no help...loosened the screws, no help...it's like the bars are too big, but my stock HD grip works fine...even a set of Kury grips were tight....I'm about lost on this simple thing.....

Casper are you sure the switch control housings are properly aligned one to another and captured properly by the brake lever boss fitment?

If that Avon grip is a little bit 'proud' on the switch end, could it be binding on the switch control housing?

My buddies '07 FLHX does have the throttle lock, but it doesn't have cruise. My '08 doesn't have the throttle lock, but it does have cruise.
Every HD touring bike I've seen built in the last 4 or 5 years - if it didn't have cruise, it had the throttle lock.

Guess that would explain why my 2011 (without cruise) does have a throttle lock.

This may sound like a dumb question but did you get the right grips? I have noncable throttle some have a cable some don't, if you bought the wrong one it will never work. The cableless ones have a little gear/sprocket on the end of your bars and one inside the grip. make sure you have the right ones, they all look the same to me. Also make sure you are putting the right grip on your throttle side, they look the same but the one for the throttle has a hard plastic piece that your control gousing fits over. Good luck, let us know if you get it going..

OK, I do have the right grips, and yep have to correct one on the throttle side ( the small gear that contacts the throttle inside).
I even removed the entire switch hosing, still doen't snap back...I'm lost.
I may go back to stock and just sell these....

I also have the 2 + 2 sweepers and I just changed from HD grips to ISO grips and the throttle does not snap back.

I have the 2+2 and Avon grips and they work fine now. They were a little tight when I first put them on and the throttle did not snap back. Put some dry graphite lube on and came back the next day and it now works fine. I think Avon has been getting some complaints about loose grips. They must have the tolerance down to minimum now. Could always tape some sandpaper to handle bar and the slide grip on and rotate some to remove a little material from the inside. Use fine grit. Hope you get it worked out, I love Avon grips.
