Question Installed stage 1 - check engine light on!

I just installed a stage 1 kit that I bought from Fuel Moto (V&H Monster Rounds, Fuel Moto Air Cleaner, PC-V pre-mapped). *Everything went on great and I followed the instructions to a T , BUT I now my check engine light is on. *Any idea as to why? *I am leaving for Sturgis on Thursday so I need to make sure everything is running properly.

I went for a 25 mile ride today and it felt great, except for a few light pops during deceleration. *Are a few pops normal, or should there be none? *The engine light is my main concern.

FYI, I have a 2011 Street Glide w/ a 96 engine that was previously completely stock.

Is a small amount of popping at decel normal?

Here is how to get the codes from your ECM by using the odometer and a list of codes, hope this helps.

The IM (instrument module) is capable of displaying DTC's (diagnostic trouble codes).
Speedometer Self Diagnostics: The speedometer is capable of displaying and clearing speedometer, tachometer, TSM/TSSM and ICM/ECM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC).
1- Turn Ignition switch to OFF & Run/Stop switch is to Run.
2- Push odometer reset button in & hold.
3- Turn ignition switch to Ignition and release odometer reset button. Background lighting sould illuminate, speedometer needle should sweep its full range and indicator lamps (battery, security, low fuel, check engine and cruise) should illuminate. The word “diag” should then appear.
4 - Push the odometer reset button once and you will see the selection menu "PSSPt" with the first P flashing.
5 - Each letter represents an area of the diagnostics module. The module that is flashing is the one you are going to check. To move from one letter (module) to the next, you push the odometer reset button one time. (from P to S to SP to t and back to P, etc.)
P = ECM/ICM (Electronic Control Module [EFI] / Ignition Control Module [Carbureted])
S = TSM/TSSM (Turn Signal/ Turn Signal Security Module)
SP = speedometer
T = tachometer
6 - To get the DTC within an area of diagnostics, push and hold the odometer reset button in for 5 seconds and release. If there are any DTC’s the code will be displayed or the word “none” will appear if there are no DTC’s. Push the odometer reset button again to view additional codes if they exist.
7 - Record the codes.
8 - If DTC’s are not to be cleared, Press and release the odometer reset button. Part number of module will be displayed.
NOTE: To determine if a code is current or historic, clear the displayed code by pushing in and holding the odometer reset button ( longer than 5 seconds) until 'clear' comes up. Release the odometer reset button. Turn OFF the ignition switch. Run your bike and shut it down then recheck the DTC’s again by repeating steps 1 to 9. If the code is current it will reappear.
9 – Press and release the odometer reset button to continue to the next module.
10 – Turn Ignition switch to OFF.

Did you disconnect the O2 sensors and install the eliminators?

I disconnected the sensors but the directions said nothing about installing eliminators. Did I miss something? I'm not using an Auto-Tune if that matters

I just did the same kit last Monday. There are 2 eliminator plugs that go into the wiring harness at the point where you disconnect the O2 sensor from the harness.

Little black plugs about an inch long with a sealed resistor on the end. So the plug from the O2 sensor on the on the pipe is left hanging(I sealed with tape) and the ECM/cable harness gets the little plugs. They close the circuit back to the ECM and should have been in the kit along with the PCV.

The eliminators are not used on a 2011. You just disconnect the o2 sensors.

When I saw this post I was going to ask if the op used the eliminators as well. But you mention 2011 didn't use them. I had them on my 11 dyna.

You'll have to figure out the engine code. Pswomack took a lot of time to type out how to see what code it is through your odometer. A little decel popping is not a big issue but you might be able to eliminate that as well. I don't know anything about PCV I have a thunder max. Make sure you call Jamie. I've read on other threads that it can take a few days to get and email response. I bet he's very busy.
