4 point mounting brackets, sissy bar and back rest pad.
New from the dealer, about $300 all said and done.
Better yet, chopped tour pak.
You will use it all the time.

This is on my list for the RK and I'm not sure what advantages the 4 point have over the 2 point. If I'm reading correctly neither the chopped pack nor the bar require the 4 point hardware. Unless your planning on a 2up tour pack I don't think the 4 point will be used, is this correct?

I bought this, is everything plus luggage rack for $189, works great plus you can adjust the backrest forward or back, all you need is the docking kit from HD, is $40 or $50 depending if you want 2 point or 4 point.

For the factory stuff...
Detachable Tour pack requires 4 point I believe....
Just a back rest 2 point
If you are ever going to use a luggage rack with the back rest... 4 point

If you get the 4 point with intentions of using a removable luggage rack, get the little magnetic slip on covers that hide the mounting points when the luggage rack isn't in use

Not sure how any aftermarket stuff mounts. They may use their own method of attaching.

I don't mean to threadjack... hopefully I'm not doing so.

My wife and I were just discussing the desire for an adjustable back rest. To the owners of it, curiously, will it work with the HD luggage racks? Also, how much more room would you say it provides the passenger - I assume it will sit them further back?

Better yet did you try the classifieds section here. Always see these parts for sale. If you bought all new stuff from the dealer it would look like this.
Sissy bar 179
Sissy bar pad 100
4 point dock hardware 159

It comes with its own luggage rack and it does not move forward and back, it tilts so you can either lean back more or lean forward more, it does not move the passengers butt forward or back, is like adjusting to recline more or less in a car seat. My wife loves it because she can adjust it to her liking and for $189 for the one I bought is way cheaper then HD's. With HD you have to buy everything seperate, sissy bar, backrest pad, luggage rack, add that up and see how much it is lol.
