Good thread. I'll need new tires by the end of the season or beginning of the new one and will consider the Michelin Commander 2's along with Avons.
I'm still on the stock Dunlops on the RG, and kind of surprised that I'm finding them to be not nearly as bad as the stock Dunlops which came on my '00 FXDL. I switched those for Avon Venoms and the improvement was tremendous.
So, none of you would consider switching back to the OEM dunlops again?
Believe it or not I would. I haven't had any issues out of my OEM on my CVO Ultra. I got the bike at the end of March and have almost 10K on it. I ride hard and two up most times. Very little wear and handled very well during rain storms, most recently going to Texas and back. My Metz on my SG have worn faster than the OEM Dunlop. And yes they are inflated properly. Like someone else said on this thread new tires will always feel better. THEY ARE NEW. After some milage and wear and tear best believe they DON'T feel the same, I don't care what tire you are running.
[. and 14QUOTE=soft 02;10184033]Already went up! First one I bought was 145 and today I ordered another and it was 165. And yes the claim of double milage was true for me.[/QUOTE]
This company has 10% off til 13th. I got the 130-90-16 Front for $96.64 and the 140 90 16 Rear fir $119.29 plus $8.95 shipping = $224.88. Fast Shipping, One tire came next day and 2nd tire came the second day.
I just put a 200/55-17 commander II rear tire on last weekend. I didn't notice any drop off in handling from the Metzler 880s I have been running. I still have the Metz 120/70-21 on the front. Don't have a commander 2 in that size. Rode about 200 miles after scuffing the tire up a bit. Felt good at speed above 110, cornered well on a variety of road surfaces. Had a tough time breaking it loose in corners. I'm happy so far.
Cool! A 200!? I've heard our bikes don't do well on 200's but I like that you are proving that wrong. I just went to the website and see that it is a radial too! Very cool!
Now I just need them to release a 21" that is 130 wide. Ether that or tires to fit the Agitators (19"&18")
