I have an 11 SG with V&H Ovals with stage one and high flow Air Cleaner. I did not get good MPG until after about 3k miles or so. All of a sudden i started getting near 50 MPG and trust me it ain't how you ride it, I ride mine like I stole it every day have 15k on a 2011, thats some miles. My opinion is to wait it out a bit and see before forking over any cash.
I usually ride about 75-85 MPH with a 37 mile commute each day and like i said i ride it like i stole it. First one off the line from a red light and throttle the **** out of it, 4th gear in 10 seconds. still getting 50MPG. Took a while to get avg, 35 for a long time until one day it just happened. dont know what else to tell you.
12 SG, with VH twin slash slip ons...I'm getting 33.6 mpg
Thinking of getting VH power duals and a heavy breather if I can ever get any money together....will that help? If so, by how much you think?
Any other tips/tricks? I don't have a tuner or power commander or anything like that. I do get on it a bit on the open road but nothing to outrageous. I know that can affect mpg.
As always, thanks!
RG
Thats awfully Low. Mines a 2011 Street Glide with 103", Power Vision Tuner, Screaming Eagle Ventilator, Vance and Hines Power Duals and 4" Rineharts. I get 44 on average.
That sounds low. Lowest i ever got was on my last bike. 2010 ultra. No lowers on. Two up. Tourpak and bags filled to the gills and running are 75mph and passed at 80. That was with the CAT....pro tuner....se ac...dyno tuned at the dealer. It was also windy out. 35mpg i got in one 60 mile stretch of travel on the mass pike.
I keep seeing all you guys out there who say you are riding at 75-85 mph. Where in the hell do you ride that fast without getting speeding tickets? If the Oklahoma Highway Patrol clocked me at that speed they would put put me so far underneath the county jail they would have to feed me with a pea shooter.
think I will keep my old bike 75 & 80 45mpg and slowed down to 55 & 60 on the back roads geting 48 , just slipons and se breather plus the xieds that make it run richer

Don't know about eveyone else but I live in Southern California and have a one way commute of 37 miles a day. I usually ride 75-85 all the time, the cool thing is that when i am on my way to work the local hwy patrol motor cycle guys are leaving too so i let them lead the way, same thing on my ride home, sh*t I find it hard to keep up with those police bikes even at 85mph, don't like to press my luck so I hang back a little. 70+ miles a day sure are fun when you can ride down the middle of every lane following a cop. LOL
