Default Need to vent!!

Yesterday i decided to ride the bike to work. It was a warm and muggy day, 90 degrees and humid, but plenty of sun. I walk out of HQ at 5pm, walk out to my bike, strap on my lid, plug in the Iphone for tunes and get ready for the looong way home. Turn on the ignition, go to press the starter...and then I notice it. Tiny white specks all over my tank. Then I notice the inner fairing...they are there too. My bike is COMPLETELY covered in tiny white specks. I attempt to wipe them off (bike was very dirty anyway so coulda been dust). Nope, still there. I race the bike home and start washing...nope, still there. Then I remember, people were working on the building next to HQ. I race back to HQ, workers are gone. Turns out these effin morons were spray painting the bus depot overhang and didnt tarp it off. Mind you it was relatively breezy yesterday. Then I start looking at all the other cars still in HQ parking lot...they are all covered in paint too, including patrol cars. Did my job this morning and come to find out these idiots have a habit of doing this type of shotty work. Two other people who work next door had their cars covered in overspray 2 weeks ago. You would think after the construction company who was doing this work had to pay for these guys cars, they would be more careful. This mistake is gonna cost them big time. We are talking about almost 40 cars total plus my bike. I called my buddy who owns a detail shop and he said he could use a clay bar on my bike and that should work, however he probably wont be able to get the paint off the plastic inner fairing to the point of perfection. Rant over, thanks for reading

Dang, that sucks man. I would be livid! I had a similar experience when I was a teen cruising in my Camaro behind some paint truck who had paint spilling and spraying out the back.Covered my beautiful blue car. I was so mad until I realized it washed right off. Not the case here I know, but I know the feeling. Hope it all comes out okay.

Call your insurance company and give them all the info and the name of the contractor. I had this happen a few years ago and the contractor tried to deny they were even painting in the area. PICS are worth a thousand bucks.

I ended up with a complete "Tear down" detail job, New Seat and a new windshield for the Road King since the paint caused marks in the shield.

I received a check for nearly $800 from the painting contractors insurance and even went as far as to ensure I had the info of the general contractor company in charge of the overall job.

Good Luck

Yeah, I spoke with the woman who owns the company...from north Jersey and I almost had to press 2 to understand her...says she is coming down Tuesday morning and does not want to go through insurance...she is a contractor for NJ Transit and I am sure does not want to lose that account...we shall see what happens. I already spoke with NJ Transit and advised them that one way or another this will be paid for and it wont be out of my pocket...Transit is more than prepared, after my "pleasant" conversation with them, to file a claim with their insurance company if the contractor fvcks up with this. The city I work for owns the property that the transportation center is on and leases it to them

Default Your A Cop?

If you are, you know the routine. File a complaint with the local PD and contact your insurance company. I understand the frustration and anger. Now that the vent is over, get your act in gear. When life hands you lemons -
