Default Thundermax w/ Autotune

Is the Thundermax w/ autotune really worth the money? It sounds like it does it all but it's crazy expensive. What does everyone think?

If I could have afforded it, that would have been my tuner of choice...but, you have to buy what you can afford.

I have it on all 3 of my bikes and love it. I had fuel pack and power commanders on my bike before and have never had a better tuned bike sinCe I went down the thundermaxx road.

I'm on my second bike with the TMax, absolutely love it, really worked out on the bike I have now, I did some major mods, programmed in another map, and it runs great. Call Frank at Dragos, his price is below MSRP and I couldn't beat it anywhere else, not to mention his knowledge and service are great.

I dont have a thundermax but a good friend does and it was pretty easy for him to get it tuned to run well, he latter put it on the dyno and it made about 7 hp better than the dealers bike with the same parts and tuned with a tts. Im shure if the guy running the dealers dyno was really good the numbers would be the same, but if you dont have a good tuner in your area I think the thundermax is a good option. What would it cost to get a dyno tune and buy a tts? Im shure the cost isnt much differnt than the thundermax. Also when you decide you would like to change somthing else the thundermax will take care of it, you dont have to go and get retuned and pay some more.
I my self have a power vision and like it a lot but you have to be willing to do a lot more your self, for me its good cause I like being able to fiddle with everything my self and it alows me to do that.
There are lots of good tuners to choose from it just depends what you want to do.
I think the thundermax is the best plug and play avoid the dyno tuner right now, it will have you tuned the quickest with less to learn.
I hope this helps.

I love mine. Installed it with the stage 1, autotuned a few times, and it ran great. Threw in new cams, downloaded the recommended map, and it's spot on again. I've autotuned a few more times just for good measure. Bike runs perfect, tons of power, good mileage, and retunes don't cost you anything.

In my case, Tmax has paid for itself after 2 tunes. I really like the flexibility for the future with no extra cost.

Everything that everyone is saying is exactly what I was thinking. I'm pretty sure I'm going to do the D&D FatCat with a S/E Heavybreather and the Tmax w/ autotune for my stage 1 on my 12 SG. Does anyone know of a better setup or am I right on the money? I'm about to take my bike in for it's 1k service. When I bought it the dealership was telling me that they had to do the work for everything to be warrantied. Is this everyone else's experience? I've also heard on here that if there is an issue they have to be able to prove that it was because they didn't do the mods themselves. Mechanically, I'm pretty sure I can do everything myself, would you guys do them yourselves or get robbed by the dealership and have them do it?

If the dealer does not do the work and something goes wrong down the road they will look for any excuse to viod your warranty
